Engineering Experience

I strive to bring my technical and detail-oriented expertise to many projects and opportunities that come my way. I have worked at companies ranging from large defense contractors and subcontractors all the way to 5 and 30 person start-up companies. I am currently working as the Program Manager of Deployments at Ori , spearheading the scalable deployment of hundreds of expandible electromechanical furniture systems to help disrupt the real estate industry and provide cities with more livable and afforable small spaces. I have 3 years of experience working in Product Development at Ori, as well as owning the ongoing engineering improvement and sustainmaint of a product line of 12 complex SKUs. Through this work I've been able to spearhead bringing multiple products fully through the development process into market (including UL certifications) and worked to bring manufacturing, supply chain, deployment, service, business objectives, and client management factors into my engineering decisions. I have completed Six Sigma Greenbelt training, and have honed my skills to drive innovation and culture change in a team.Additional experience in mechanical design, operations, and global studies can be found on my LinkedIn profile.

Education

My Alma Mater, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), is a unique project-based school in the Greater Boston Area. I graduated in May of 2019 with a dual degree in Mechanical Engineering and International Global Studies. WPI's unique project-based learning format allowed me to build hands-on experience in design, manufacturing, robotics/automation, programming, and electronic systems, while also expanding my global competency through three different global projects.

At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, I started The Rooted Rebel publication in order to develop my voice and share my thoughts and advice on topics of interest such as mental health and sustainability, as well as my personal experiences. As someone who strives to be rooted in reality yet still willing to rebel and take calculated risks, I write for those who strive to build confidence in their own abilities and live a grounded yet exciting life!

Personal Philosophy

I commit strongly to my work and to myself. I aspire to continuously stretch my comfort zone + be a lifelong learner. In a work environment, I value community, inclusivity, and authenticity amongst having mutual respect for others as well as a culture that promotes cross collaboration and visibility between different functional areas. I value and purse an interdisciplinary approach to development and am determined to use my passion, engineering disposition, and leadership potential to excel in my team and individual work. I am always excited to contribute in this way.Outside of work, I enjoy varied hobbies, from scuba diving, sailing, rock climbing, and soccer to singing a cappella, playing guitar, urban gardening, and natural farming.

Global Projects

Germany + Beyond

My passion for global education started in 2016 when I left the country for the first time and moved to Konstanz, Germany for 6 months. I went to take language and history courses in WPI's engineering exchange program with HTWG Konstanz. My love for history reawakened in parallel with continued growth in the engineering discipline, as I learned about German history and current events to develop a deeper more nuanced perspective on the modern day German identity. With the world as my classroom, I was bit by the travel bug. I had a lot of time to get to know the local community as well as travel to countries throughout europe. From hiking in Interlaken and skiing in the Alps, to visiting mosques in Istanbul and rowing past castles in the Czech Republic, I knew I would take a love and appreciation for global educational opportunities wherever I went!

Morocco + Israel

In 2018, I took a ferry across the Strait of Gibraltar headed for Morocco with a team of 4 to investigate agricultural resources for small-scale farmers. We visited 11 different rural farms and built strong connections with the community. This opened my eyes to the financial and environmental benefits of permaculture, and biodynamic + regenerative farming techniques. I visited the most beautiful places in the world—Chefchaouen (the blue pearl mountain city), bustling medinas in Fez + Rabat, and the expansive Sahara Desert.I couldn't get enough of traveling with a purpose so I continued to learn about agricultural challenges in arid climates in Israel in 2019 while completing my engineering capstone in thermal performance of desert housing.
